At Nexa, we believe success should be simple: no hidden costs, no barriers, no unnecessary complexity. Whether you're an individual lawyer ready to build your own practice or a law firm seeking a smarter way to grow, we make your transition seamless.
"At Nexa, we offer unrivalled support, from cutting-edge legal tech to experienced backoffice teams who truly understand your needs."
Nexa was founded in 2017 by Eliot Hibbert and John Roberts with full approval from the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) as a regulated law firm.
In January 2020, Nexa Law expanded its reach by acquiring Peregrine, a well-established law firm. This acquisition broadened Nexa's service offerings and marked its strategic entry into the London legal market, boosting its national presence.
Following the Peregrine acquisition, Nexa Law opened its London office in 2020. This expansion into the UK's commercial and legal hub enhanced Nexa's accessibility to clients and underscored its commitment to growth.
By the end of 2020, Nexa Law had grown its team to 50 skilled lawyers. This milestone reflected the firm's success in attracting top legal talent, positioning it to deliver exceptional services across various practice areas.
By 2022, Nexa Law doubled its roster to 100 lawyers, showcasing the success of its flexible, modern legal platform. This growth reinforced Nexa's reputation as a thriving legal community with a significant industry impact.
Today, Nexa Law has grown to 190+ lawyers, solidifying its status as a leading industry frontrunner. This ongoing expansion highlights Nexa's commitment to innovation and quality, offering an unmatched experience for clients and legal professionals alike.

Everything you need to know about joining Nexa as an individual lawyer
Yes, subject to your current contract. Nexa actively supports the transition of your practice. Your clients are yours, not the firm’s, and our structure is designed to reflect that ownership.
Onboarding typically takes two to four weeks. We have a dedicated team to handle your SRA integration, LEAP setup, and PSC arrangements to get you deal-ready as quickly as possible.
You can scale your team instantly. Access paralegals and other Nexa consultants through the platform for due diligence or complex workstreams. The referral structure ensures all collaborating parties benefit financially.
Absolutely. You have total freedom to choose your clients, from owner-managed businesses and start-ups to institutional clients and private equity-backed transactions.
Yes. Nexa offers a financial support arrangement for new consultants to help bridge the move from a salaried role. These tailored packages are discussed confidentially during your recruitment process.
Yes. You can operate under your own personal brand, the Nexa name, or a hybrid. Many ex-City lawyers maintain a personal brand for existing clients while using Nexa’s Top 200 status for new business.
You sign a Consultancy Agreement with Nexa Law Limited, the SRA-regulated entity. Most consultants operate through a personal service company. If you do not already have one, Nexa’s recommended accountants can set this up quickly. You then have access to the full Nexa platform, technology stack, and support team from day one.
Once onboarded, you advise your clients exactly as you do now. Nexa operates in the background: handling compliance, file audits, banking, billing, insurance, and administration. You decide whether to work under your own brand, the Nexa brand, or both. Many ex-City lawyers who join Nexa as consultant corporate solicitors maintain their personal brand for existing client relationships while using Nexa for new client development. Your client relationships remain yours throughout.
The fee share is transparent and structured to reward performance. The more you bill, the higher your share becomes. There are no restrictions on the rates you charge, and no firm-level pricing structure you are required to follow.
Nexa is looking for corporate solicitors with a minimum of eight years’ PQE, a specialism in corporate law, and either an existing client base or a clear plan to develop one as a consultant. You need to be self-directed, commercially astute, and comfortable managing your own caseload and client relationships without close supervision.
Nexa is a particularly strong environment for ambitious, high-achieving senior associates who have built a strong M&A or corporate finance track record and are ready to step away from the salaried structure, and for partners who want the rewards of their billing without the management responsibilities of a traditional firm role. If you are a transactional lawyer considering the consultant route in the UK, Nexa offers a fully supported, SRA-regulated platform to do exactly that. Relevant areas of practice include:
From welcoming the newest consultant lawyers, to deep dives into the shifting legal landscape & firm-wide milestones, this is the heartbeat of the Nexa community.
