Ailsa Fairchild

Ailsa is a Solicitor and Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Credit Management (FCICM) with extensive experience in commercial litigation, debt recovery, construction disputes, insolvency, and contractual matters. She is known for providing clear, strategic and commercially focused advice, helping clients resolve disputes efficiently while protecting their commercial interests.

Ailsa acts for a wide range of clients, including individuals, SMEs and large national organisations, advising on disputes across commercial litigation, debt recovery, construction disputes, landlord and tenant matters, and insolvency-related proceedings. Ailsa has particular expertise in high-value debt recovery, breach of contract claims, defective works disputes, and enforcement strategy.

Ailsa regularly advises on complex recovery and enforcement routes, including High Court enforcement, statutory demands, winding-up petitions and bankruptcy proceedings, and manages cases from pre-action stages through to trial and enforcement. She has substantial experience in both the High Court and County Court and frequently works closely with leading counsel on defended hearings, interim applications and multi-track litigation.

Ailsa practice also includes construction disputes, commercial contract litigation, professional negligence claims, and landlord and tenant matters. She is experienced in drafting pleadings, advising on evidential issues, negotiating settlements and developing litigation strategies aligned with her clients’ commercial objectives.

In addition to Ailsa fee-earning work, she supervises junior fee-earners and ensure matters are progressed proactively, efficiently and with a strong results-focused approach.

Ailsa has built her career within specialist litigation and credit management environments, managing disputes from initial instruction through to resolution and enforcement. As a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Credit Management (FCICM), she  combines technical legal expertise with practical commercial understanding to deliver effective outcomes for her clients.

Interests

Outside of law Ailsa is kept busy by her children, grandchildren and a house full of animals! Having mentored a number of junior lawyers, she is passionate about encouraging and supporting others to join the legal profession.
