Nexa was founded in 2017 by Eliot Hibbert and John Roberts with full approval from the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) as a regulated law firm.
In January 2020, Nexa Law expanded its reach by acquiring Peregrine, a well-established law firm. This acquisition broadened Nexa's service offerings and marked its strategic entry into the London legal market, boosting its national presence.
Following the Peregrine acquisition, Nexa Law opened its London office in 2020. This expansion into the UK's commercial and legal hub enhanced Nexa's accessibility to clients and underscored its commitment to growth.
By the end of 2020, Nexa Law had grown its team to 50 skilled lawyers. This milestone reflected the firm's success in attracting top legal talent, positioning it to deliver exceptional services across various practice areas.
By 2022, Nexa Law doubled its roster to 100 lawyers, showcasing the success of its flexible, modern legal platform. This growth reinforced Nexa's reputation as a thriving legal community with a significant industry impact.
Today, Nexa Law has grown to 190+ lawyers, solidifying its status as a leading industry frontrunner. This ongoing expansion highlights Nexa's commitment to innovation and quality, offering an unmatched experience for clients and legal professionals alike.

Probate matters often run for a year or more. Nexa’s billing and cashiering systems accommodate interim billing, staged payments, percentage-based estate fees, and the natural rhythm of estate administration work. There are no restrictions on how you structure fees across the life of a matter.
No. You practise under Nexa Law Limited’s SRA authorisation. Nexa manages the entire compliance framework, file audits, and banking. This avoids the significant time and cost of seeking separate approval as a sole practitioner.
Yes. Nexa has consultants with expertise in disputed wills, proprietary estoppel claims, and challenges to validity. The platform’s PI cover extends to £10 million, providing appropriate protection for both contentious and non-contentious work.
Submissions to HMRC and probate registry applications are made by you directly as part of your professional work. Nexa provides the LEAP case management systems, administrative support, and compliance framework to facilitate this, while the client relationship and professional responsibility remain yours.
As a self-employed consultant, you manage your own schedule. There are no minimum monthly billing requirements. If you plan an extended period away, the Nexa support team can advise on how to manage ongoing matters and maintain continuity for your clients.
Most Nexa consultants operate through a personal service company (PSC). Nexa’s recommended accountants can assist with establishing one quickly if you don’t already have one in place.
Absolutely. Whether you work under your own personal brand, the Nexa name, or a combination of both is entirely your choice. Many probate solicitors find that their existing clients readily follow them, and Nexa fully supports the transition of those relationships.
We provide marketing support, a profile on the Nexa website, and internal introductions. While the business development approach is yours to lead, our support team can assist with materials and positioning as you build your consultant practice.
You sign a Consultancy Agreement with Nexa Law Limited and practise under its SRA authorisation. This means you do not need to obtain separate SRA approval as a sole practitioner, which removes a significant regulatory hurdle from the transition. Most Nexa consultants operate through a personal service company, and Nexa’s recommended accountants can assist with establishing one quickly.
