Ros qualified as a solicitor in 2005 with a leading international law firm. She expanded her experience in private practice working at further international and regional firms, alongside working in house at a blue light service.
Ros has extensive experience advising in relation to all aspects of employment law and people management, acting for a range of commercial clients from international companies to SME’s. Alongside her commercial practice, she has considerable expertise in the public sector. Having acted for local authorities, social housing providers and being in-house at a blue light service, Ros has a detailed understanding of the unique demands of the sector. She has acted for a number of local authority schools, multi academy trusts, and further and higher education institutions and is experienced advising in relation to regulatory issues and safeguarding in addition to employment law issues.
When acting for employers, Ros excels at taking a consultative approach, using knowledge management and delivering training to all levels of management to pre-empt issues arising. She works closely with HR professionals assisting with strategy discussions, industrial relations advice and providing day to day support to address concerns. When disputes do arise, she seeks cost effective, commercial, timely solutions whilst balancing the need to maintain an organisation’s reputation.
Alongside acting for respondent and employer clients, Ros has considerable experience acting for employees both in the commercial and public sector. She has particular expertise advising and representing teachers, firefighters, and police officers, managing regulatory issues alongside any employment dispute.
A skilled advocate, she has experience representing clients in the Employment Tribunal and in the civil courts. With a post grad in International Human Rights Law, she has a keen interest in human rights and all aspects of ED&I.
In her spare time Ros enjoys all aspects of fitness, particularly running, cycling and more recently weightlifting. With prior experience volunteering at a local primary school, she’s currently working on a project seeking to make international law accessible to school children of all ages. She established a small charity to raise money for Alder Hey and nearby children’s hospitals.
