Background
Amaar is a dual-qualified lawyer. He was admitted as a Solicitor of the Senior Courts of England & Wales in 2015; and as an Advocate of the High Courts of Pakistan in 2012.
Initially specialising in cross-border project finance and international commercial law, Amaar has since served as a judicial assistant in a constitutional court and worked for seven years as a UK public and civil servant. This included acting as an Adjudicator for disputes brought to the Housing Ombudsman and as the lead for transitioning EU trade remedies measures under the WTO system. Amaar most recently served as a policy and strategy adviser to the UK Government on international trade for three years.
Over the past 13 years, Amaar has advised on high-value cross-border commercial transactions; international project finance in the energy and infrastructure sectors; corporate governance and compliance; public procurement; disputes including judicial review; housing and tenancy, immigration, intellectual property and data protection; anti-dumping and countervailing subsidies under WTO law; helping start-ups scale up to their full potential and estate planning for high net-worth individuals.
Amaar holds a Master of Laws degree (LLM) and a professional qualification in Islamic Finance. He has lived and worked in five countries and speaks seven languages.
