Nexa adopts its Environmental Business Charter
We are delighted to announce the launch of our new Environmental Business Charter, setting out Nexa’s commitment to playing its part in mitigating the effects of climate change.
Nexa CEO, Nigel Clark said:
“We all know that things have to change if we are to secure the planet for future generations and we believe the legal industry should be leading by example when it comes to mitigating the effects of climate change.
At Nexa, we have committed to “walk the talk” when it comes to sustainability and the launch of our Environmental Business Charter (EBC) is the first step to achieving that aim.
As a platform for legal consultants, ours is inherently a low carbon business structure but, we are not complacent and know we can always do more.
The EBC is a concise and practical document which provides all of us at Nexa with an invaluable framework for change.
This is not just a policy document that will sit on a shelf, I expect our EBC will guide how we run our business and do business and will assist us as we support our clients in pursuing their own sustainability agendas.
I’d like to thank our ESG Lead at Nexa, Cathy Oh, for all her work on this project and I look forward to her continued involvement in helping us meet the goals we have set for ourselves.” Nexa’s ten-point plan, as set out in the EBC is based on a template drafted by The Chancery Lane Project – an organisation which Nexa supports.
The document sets out the ESG commitments Nexa is making, including: publishing a carbon footprint, setting a target for Net Zero and delivering an environmental education programme for all Nexa staff.
