How do law firms get the most out of working with NexaConnex?
Our freelance lawyer service, NexaConnex, is designed for mid-market law firms – who are the legal businesses that have been particularly affected by the recruitment squeeze and rising salaries of the last 12 months.
We have been helping many such firms around the country to meet their resourcing challenges. Our experience of working collaboratively with them has highlighted how law firms can get the most out of NexaConnex’s services and find the solutions they need.
Here are some tips for law firms considering outsourcing aspects of their legal service delivery to our freelance lawyers:
- Be specific: Spend some time clearly identifying exactly what services you will need and when. For example: if it’s a commercial lawyer you need, what level do you need someone to be working at, for example – producing first draft documentation or leading the advice directly with a client? What is ‘a nice to have’ and what is your most basic service requirement? If you want someone for a fixed period, is it possible this would need to be extended? Are you looking for someone with particular sector experience, or to work with a particular team of people? The more detail you can give us, the easier it will be for us to find the right person for you, first time.
- Be transparent: For us to give you the most accurate estimate of price we need to understand everything about your needs and expectations, the work involved, the client and any other relevant issues. More information is always more helpful than less and you can rest assured that all discussions are entirely confidential, we are happy to sign NDAs if required.
- Be realistic: If you are operating in a very niche space, it may not always be possible to find someone who matches criteria exactly but let us know how much flex you have when it comes to your person specification.
- Be as prepared as you can be: It may be that you have a short notice requirement to fill a gap in your coverage because a lawyer has suddenly fallen ill, in which case we will always do our best to help, as soon as we can. However, if you have more notice, maybe of an impending maternity leave in 4 months’ time, start speaking to us as early as you can.
- Be flexible: Given our experience of working with our law firm clients at NexaConnex, we may be able to suggest solutions that you have not considered. If you can be flexible, we may be able to find a more cost-effective way for you to do things.
- Be talkative: Communication is key to ensuring you are getting what you need so please keep talking to us and let us know if there is anything which is not quite right for you. We want you to be entirely happy with our service so ask as many questions as you need to and don’t sit on anything that is worrying you. We pride ourselves on being open and approachable, just pick up the phone or drop us an email.
