Nexa provides the framework to manage complex estates and long-term client relationships without the traditional firm overhead. Empowering your professional journey so you have the freedom to practise your way.
Whether charging hourly or percentage-based estate fees, you keep the lion’s share. No salary caps or annual reviews.
We’ve eliminated the monthly payroll cycle. We run payment cycles twice weekly, ensuring your share is processed quickly after invoice settlement.
Practise with total security under Nexa’s SRA authorisation, with full COLP/COFA support and PII featuring no excess on claims.
Full access to LEAP Case Management, Practical Law for commercial precedents and research, and secure cloud document management.
We handle the firm-level admin: cashiering, credit control, and billing. Virtual assistants and paralegals are available to support heavy drafting or due diligence.
You select your clients, your sectors, and your rates (hourly, fixed, or capped). Run your practice around your clients' needs, not an office attendance policy.

"At Nexa, we offer unrivalled support, from cutting-edge legal tech to experienced backoffice teams who truly understand your needs."
Nexa was founded in 2017 by Eliot Hibbert and John Roberts with full approval from the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) as a regulated law firm.
In January 2020, Nexa Law expanded its reach by acquiring Peregrine, a well-established law firm. This acquisition broadened Nexa's service offerings and marked its strategic entry into the London legal market, boosting its national presence.
Following the Peregrine acquisition, Nexa Law opened its London office in 2020. This expansion into the UK's commercial and legal hub enhanced Nexa's accessibility to clients and underscored its commitment to growth.
By the end of 2020, Nexa Law had grown its team to 50 skilled lawyers. This milestone reflected the firm's success in attracting top legal talent, positioning it to deliver exceptional services across various practice areas.
By 2022, Nexa Law doubled its roster to 100 lawyers, showcasing the success of its flexible, modern legal platform. This growth reinforced Nexa's reputation as a thriving legal community with a significant industry impact.
Today, Nexa Law has grown to 190+ lawyers, solidifying its status as a leading industry frontrunner. This ongoing expansion highlights Nexa's commitment to innovation and quality, offering an unmatched experience for clients and legal professionals alike.

Everything you need to know about joining Nexa as an individual lawyer
Yes. Nexa places no restrictions on how you structure your fees. Many commercial solicitors use fixed or capped-fee arrangements for SME and growth clients. The fee share applies to whatever is collected.
Conflicts are managed at the platform level through our compliance and risk function. You have full access to our conflict-checking systems, following standard SRA-regulated processes.
No. Nexa consultants advise clients across all commercial sectors. There are no firm-level preferred client arrangements or sector restrictions that would limit your practice.
Paralegals and virtual assistants are accessible through the platform at hourly rates. If your practice grows to the point where you require dedicated resources, we can discuss a bespoke development plan.
Absolutely. You can work under your own personal brand, the Nexa name, or a combination. We fully support commercial solicitors who have built their reputation within a specific sector or niche.
Yes. Nexa offers a financial support arrangement for new consultants to help bridge the move from a salaried role. These packages are discussed confidentially during the recruitment process.
You sign a Consultancy Agreement with Nexa Law Limited and operate under its SRA authorisation and compliance framework. Most Nexa consultants work through a personal service company. Nexa can introduce you to recommended accountants to set this up quickly if needed. From day one, you have full access to the platform, systems, and support team.
Day-to-day, your practice works as it always has: you advise clients, draft and negotiate agreements, manage relationships, and develop your commercial practice in the direction that suits you. Nexa handles compliance monitoring, banking, insurance, billing, and administration in the background. You choose whether to work under your own brand, the Nexa name, or a combination. Commercial solicitors who have built their practice around a personal reputation or a particular sector often find that maintaining their own brand serves them well, and Nexa fully supports this.
For commercial solicitors who have been advising B2B clients as a contracts lawyer or business law consultant solicitor, the transition to the Nexa platform tends to be straightforward. Your client relationships transfer with you, and the administrative burden decreases substantially from day one.
Nexa is looking for commercial solicitors with at least eight years’ PQE who either have an established client base or a specific and realistic plan to develop one as a consultant. You should be commercially minded, self-motivated, and comfortable owning your workload and client relationships independently.
Nexa is a particularly good fit for ambitious, high-achieving senior associates who are ready to build their own commercial practice, and for partners who want to continue advising the clients they know without the management obligations they have accumulated. If you are a commercial solicitor thinking about how to go independent in the UK, or how to earn more than your current law firm salary allows, the Nexa consultant model gives you a structured and well-supported route to do both. Relevant areas of practice include:
From welcoming the newest consultant lawyers, to deep dives into the shifting legal landscape & firm-wide milestones, this is the heartbeat of the Nexa community.
