Fulfilling secondment requests for larger corporate clients, including banks, can put a real strain on a firm’s associate resources and, despite the obvious relationship benefits, are often difficult to price effectively. NexaConnex currently has 3 financial services lawyers on 6-month (with flex to extend) secondments with ENBD’s in-house legal team. This has taken secondment pressure off our law firm clients while still providing the bank’s General Counsel with certainty, the right skill sets and reassurance regarding quality control.
ENBD engages NexaConnex directly. The contracting entity is Nexa Law Limited, our SRA regulated entity.
Each individual lawyer also has to enter into a Secondment NDA, an Acceptable Use Agreement and make a Secondee Declaration relating to confidentiality and adherence to bank policies.
NexaConnex lawyers are provided with ENBD laptops and work directly within the bank in-house team.
Each NexaConnex lawyer has a direct reporting line within the ENBD legal team.
ENBD assumes all liability for the legal advice that is provided by the NexaConnex lawyers to the bank as the internal client.
NexaConnex and ENBD agree a monthly rate for each lawyer prior to the start of their secondment term.
NexaConnex bills the bank monthly in advance.
“They are agile, responsive and great value for money, and, most importantly, think like business-people, not just academic lawyers.”
